Spazmos

Respek is important, but the sad thing is, there is so little respek left in the world that if you look it up in the dictionary... you'll find, its been taken out.

Showed up at the Sliver Lake Flea Market with the truck this morning and found out it was cancelled due to rain. Had no interest in making lemonade so returned the truck and took the day off. We'll be back at 10am tomorrow Sunday, February 27th 2010. The location is; Micheltorena Street Elementary School (1511 Micheltorena St. The cross street is Sunset Los Angeles, CA 90026).

We are expecting a massive turnout because, as it has been explained to us, a lot of pizza is consumed in Silver Lake and Echo Park. The question is, Should we put this area into our regular rotation? Try us out and let us know; Should spend zero, one or two nights a week in Siver Lake?

Crazyland

Took a little trip to Crazyland and searched SliceTruck on google this morning. Found a few reviews that gave me hurt feelings. Here they are:

-The cheese had congealed into one large piece that slid around the sauce like it was ice. The sauce was nothing special. The crust was bland, pale, stiff, and wimpy all the way through, like a breadstick that's sat out for a half hour, with no crunch anywhere.

-Meh

-Frozen pizza quality. Dense, flat. Crispy and thin, yes-- but cardboardy.

-I haven't had a chance to try the SliceTruck

-Hello, Domino's? I'd like to order a pizza.

-Though it wasn't terrible, it wasn't memorable either.

-taste just like n e other pizza place...greasy and not of quality

-Not enough to mark them as bad, but merely being average means it's hard to justify going back.

-The pizza was bland at best on every level. Subpar everywhere.

-Crust was pretty much without taste or flavor. I would even say it might be made from frozen dough since it was almost tooth breaking hard around the edges.

Granted we have way more good reviews than bad, my feelings were hurt. But then I took a look at the reviews of two of my favorite pizza places in New York (who we're borrowing/stealing ideas from) and my feelings were no longer hurt. SliceTruck has great pizza but these two places blow us away (for now), I've sorted their reviews from worst to best just for effect.

Grimaldi's Reviews
-I wanted to love this place, but I've had better at Pizza Hut.

Di Fara's Reviews
-a pizza with the consistency of wet cardboard

Even at the worst hour of a bad day I know these two places are going to give you great pizza. I now feel fine. If you've got a review for SliceTruck please post it here.

SliceTruck might burn 100 calories for you

We've got Celsius at SliceTruck. Celsius allows you to enjoy the great taste of burning calories. The Celsius company says you burn 100 calories for each can you drink. We'll, we've got it on SliceTruck and you can come by and test it out. Drink it by itself and start getting super thin or pair it with a couple slices for a dainty meal. We've got all flavors. Would like to hear your feedback on it in the comments.

To be clear, Celsius is a sort of energy drink. Independent clinical trials on Celsius show that it burns 100 calories when you drink a can. Chris said it tastes good and thinks he's losing weight like crazy from it but can't be sure because there is no scale on the truck.

Kimbo Slice, We've got an offer for you

I know what your thinking Kimbo; we're about to offer you a free slice for some reason or another. This is not what we're looking to do here. Granted if you accept you will be welcome to a lifetime supply of pizza slices. Here's the proposal, we have two options here. First, legally change your name from Kimbo Slice to simply SliceTruck. This falls perfectly in line with your image of a tough, fierce, fighter guy, SliceTruck, say it to yourself and imagine a beautiful woman is saying it to you because that's your name and she wants you. Sounds good, right. Now think of that same beautiful woman lustily whispering Hey Kimbo Slice. Not that interesting anymore, somethings missing.

So think that over and remember we all believe it would be for the best for you, but if a one word name isn't for you, we have another option. Keep Kimbo and change your last name to SliceTruck. Kimbo SliceTruck. Now everyone is finally getting the full picture with that. No more leaving people hanging, thank you your welcome.

We realize your a big celeb and these type of endorsements don't come cheap so we're prepared to offer you a contract in which you're paid. Sound good? No, it sounds great.

You've seen the contract, now its your move. We're waiting.

Super Sunday (Free slice prediction)

Expanding on our normal schedule for USC, we will be at approximately Hoover and 30th today beginning at 11am until about 8pm. This is very special pizza eating day and felt it is important we show our support for it.

The reason is the big game. We've got the Colts and the Saints. Latest line is Colts -5 and a total of 57. Tell us whose going to win the game and by exactly how many points using the comments section and, if you get it correct, we'll email you a coupon for one absolutely free slice. Please include your email address and your analysis of the matchup.

If you're interested in a delivery for today please call 310-944-2474. If you want your pizza at or around 3pm please call as early as possible, like noon or so. If for some reason you have a problem with SliceTruck and plan to order pizza somewhere else, do yourself a favor and just make chili.

Best Regards,

P.S. If you like money you'd take the Colts and the under today

The Year of the Tiger Schedule

Flipfreaking Friday. First Friday too. Not going to find us at Abbot Kinney as we're going cardinal and gold on this one. Here's the plan. Going to T-Lofts for lunch Feb 5th Friday 11am-2:45pm, then we're going to USC for the night 4pm to 12am as always. You know we deliver at USC? Simple you just call 310-944-2474.

Does T-Pain own the T-Lofts you ask? I don't know but let me ask you this right back, Does the T in T-Pain stand for Tennessee?. These are both unknowns.

Will O.J. Simpson or O.J. Mayo be at the SliceTruck at USC?, No but Matt Leinart probably won't be there either so where does THAT leave us? Does USC let people in named O.J. anymore? How bout this, if your USC student ID says O.J. on it we'll give you a free slice on Friday. Ok, its a deal. All the current USC students, undergrad or grad, named O.J. can have a free slice of pizza on Friday if they stop by.

Oh, hold on. We're also going to Alhambra on Saturday for a major Lunar New Year parade. Did I ever tell you about the parade website I'm going to make? Paradesaroundtheworlddotcom.com, its gonna be great, you can watch parades on your computer, or your telephone, or even just listen to parades. Don't tell anyone about my idea, they'd steal and we won't get rich from it.

Seriously we're going to be at this parade here's some info. Its the year of the tiger, a really sweet sounding year not to be confused with the eye of the tiger. When people ask you what year it is say "tiger" or "tiger woods" not "eye of the tiger" though.

UPDATE-We are seriously not going to the parade in Alhambra. It was cancelled today due to weather. Saturday we're taking off juicing up for Superbowl Sunday. Pizza day. Will be at USC. Don't do yourself wrong by ordering from any other pizza place. You will and should hate yourself for doing something like that.
